Here are some great tips from Parenting.com to strengthen the bond between you and your toddler:
1. You can help to create a feeling of security by developing routines and rituals. This predictability will be especially beneficial as your toddler experiences other changes within and around her/him.
2. Within these routines, have a sense of humour around your toddler and do unexpected, funny things – it will surprise them! Deviating from the norm will also come as a happy surprise. Allowing a special treat at an unusual time will be recognised as such and they’ll appreciate the shared rule-breaking.
3. Take time to read to your child using different voices and personalising the story for a better bonding experience.
4. If you have more than one child, try to have some alone time with each.
5. Be physically close to your child, with lots of cuddles and strokes.
6. Support your toddler when things go wrong.
7. Have your own special words within the family.
8. Have fun together as much as possible!
